Bohdan Cheremkha, first deputy director general of BZK Grain Alliance Ukraine AB in the north of Ukraine, Chernihiv region, says that oil flaxseed cultivation becomes environmentally and agronomically beneficial. In particular, recently they have started growing oil flaxseed in the organic crop rotation.

Ihor Brahinets, the head of the private agricultural enterprise “Alfa-Agro” in the south of Ukraine, Kherson region, claims that flax is profitable, furthermore it is a good substitute for sunflower in the crop rotation.

Andrii Shchedrinov, owner of the family farming enterprise "Tellus-Agro" in the same region, tells how he introduced oil flax seed into the crop rotation not as business commodity, but as an agronomic necessity. In addition, the flax straw pellets are considered to be an alternative not only to gas but also to firewood, because there are no forests in the south.

Mykola Shkurko, Chief Executive Officer of EPCF “Siaivo” LTD, Head of the Board of Directors of the Public Union "Flax and Hemp Development Association of Ukraine" draws attention to the usage of flax seeds for food purposes. The FHDAU is concerned about the cancellation of export duty (10%) for this very type of seed, and also there is trust in the cooperation between Ukraine and Canada in the European market, where the Ukrainian-Canadian flax should dominate, not Kazakh or Russian, as it currently is. There are great preconditions for this.
