The market of oilseeds in Ukraine is growing every year.
Ukraine produces about 2% of world volume of flax being one of the ten leading producers of flax.
Comparison of economic efficiency indicators of oil crops proves that flax and camelina can compete with the major oilseeds and provide a high level of profit. The market of flax in Ukraine is export-oriented (export duty of 10% is active).
Camelina is gaining popularity in the world and remains unjustly forgotten commodity in Ukraine. The camelina market in Ukraine does not function independently because of the lack of subjects and objects of the market, it is almost not cultivated in Ukraine (duty of 10% is paid by exporters).
As domestic specialists in all branches of agriculture characterize positively the impact on the Ukrainian economy of the abolition of customs duties by the EU, there is the important question of the cancellation of export duties on flax, supplied from Ukraine.
