Flax development association is to be founded in Ukraine

On December 14, 2016 a meeting at the Presidium of the Agrarian Sciences Academy was held on the topic "Status and prospects of oil flaxseed and mustard seed cultivation in Ukraine."

The CEO of EPCF "Siaivo" Ltd  Mykola Shkurko addressed a meeting with a presentation called  "Oil flaxseed  in Ukraine: current status and opportunities  for development."

Upon completing  a meeting of the initiative group followed responsible for the  creation of the Flax development association in Ukraine involving: Mykhailo Baschenko, Vice President of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine National Academy; Ihor Shevchenko, Director of the Oilseeds Institute; Ihor Marynchenko, Director of Bast Crops Institute of NAAS; Iryna Laiko, Department Head at Bast Crops Institute of NAAS; Ihor Brahinets, Director of PAE "Alfa-Agro"; Mykola Shkurko, CEO of EPCF "Siaivo" Ltd; Stepan Kapshuk, CEO of the Association "Ukroliiaprom."

A decision was made to create the Flax development association in Ukraine, which is going to focus its activities on the following key areas:

legislative initiatives, creation of the " rules of game" in the domestic market;

promotion of selection and seed production;

consolidated and competitive appearance in foreign markets.
